Learning From Workshop Meltdowns

Proposed
We’ve all had workshops that didn’t go to plan — moments of tension, disconnection, or outright meltdown. This session offers a space for honest kōrero about what went wrong, how we responded, and what we learned. It’s not about blame, but about collective wisdom: how do we grow as educators when things fall apart?

Best suited for: Any Treaty educator or facilitator with lived experience of “when it goes wrong” — from early-career to seasoned practitioners.
Session outcome:
Participants will share and learn about:
• Recognising the common triggers and dynamics behind workshop breakdowns.
• Share and reflect on responses to challenging facilitation moments.
• Building personal and collective resilience in Treaty education work.
